I have changed my hosting plan. I can have many ports but I can’t have the port 25 open. Can software work with another port and how I can configure it?
No, the Advanced Email Verifier cannot work with another port. All email sent via the Internet is routed through the port 25, the channel used for communication between a mail client and a mail server. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to change this. The port 25 is the standard for sending messages and the one Advanced Email Verifier uses to verify emails.
So, if you use a direct Internet connection mode in the Advanced Email Verifier, the port 25 must be open with your ISP. If you use a web script to verify emails, the port 25 must be open with your hosting provider. The Advanced Email Verifier must be able to connect through the port 25 to external SMTP servers. On shared hosting plans, the port 25 is usually closed. The solution is switching to another hosting provider/ISP or use BPSocks Email Validation API to verify email addresses.
